Thus saith the Lord:

“Proclaim this message to the hearing of those in power that, that which they are about doing has a serious consequence deeper than they can see and broader than they can think of. For I will rise in anger against the nation, if and whenever it is done. Is it time now to reject me? Removing my name from their currency is tantamount to rejecting me and denying me leadership. The consequences will be disastrous. For I will turn my back on her and make her enemies all over the world bombard and ridicule her and reduce her to nothingness.

Tell the leaders that this is a timely warning and it will do the nation a lot of good if it is taken seriously; I dealt with Herod. A nation that looks down on me and disregards me is calling for trouble and pain for her citizenry. Let the leaders shelve the idea and never do it, or else they dare me. And the consequence shall be felt from this generation to many more generations to come. Tell them it is a warning that must not be treated with levity, for doing so is simply calling for disaster without measure, for it shall be limitless. I have spoken. I AM THAT I AM.

Biblical Reference: 1 Samuel 15: 1 – 23

Exhortation:

“Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” (1 Samuel 15: 22, 23)

The consequences of disobedience are so grievous that it is at best avoided. In God's eyes, man is a failure, if he constantly disobeys and does things his own way. Sometimes we want to go our own way rather than follow the ways of God.

This will always end in ruin. Those who reject God face many curses. Much of the world's evil is a result of people's failure to acknowledge and serve God in total obedience. Disobedience is a snare and also a barrier between man and God.
