CHILDREN, A HERITAGE FROM THE LORD

BIBLE READING : PSALM 127 : 1 – 5

In spite of the entire different motive that people have for family planning, children especially male children continue to be regarded as a special blessing every culture. This was much truer in past generations. The truth of verse 5, however, depends not only on the number, but on the quality of the children. Therefore, every child born is a big responsibility for the parents in terms of upbringing and training.

Now we can see the relevance of verse 1 – 2. all the efforts and finances that parents put into the training of their children could be in vain unless they receive the help that is beyond themselves. How do these apply in your situation? What steps can br taken to ensure that all important help from above? The answer is found in handing them over to the creator in prayers, knowing fully well that God is the real owner of our children while we are only his care taker.

Prayer: Heavenly Father help parents to look after their children in your own way.
